Preparing your muscle car for viewing can be a difficult, and time-consuming, task.  While it may take time to make your classic muscle car shine like new, there are several easy steps in making your car show-worthy.  You will want to make sure your car is cleaned thoroughly before you show it off for public viewing.  To do this, you will need several items. All of these items you will most likely have in your home or at your local auto store.
    

The first step to cleaning your car is to remove your car seats.  This can be done with simple household tools that can unscrew bolts.  While this will be considered the most difficult task of cleaning your muscle car, it will make cleaning extremely easy.  After you have removed your car seats, you will want to begin cleaning the seats with soap and water.  Using a white rag, you will want to wipe in circular motions.  If you have leather seats, you will need to use the appropriate cleaners.
    

Protect your muscle car’s dashboard by applying a UV protector.  To keep your muscle car show worthy, you will need to prevent any type of dashboard cracks by applying this protector.  Use stain remover on the carpets to remove any type of discoloration to the floor.  Gentle carpet shampoo works great in removing pre-existing stains.  Fabric protector should be applied to the carpets after they have been cleaned.  
    

Cleaning your windows with glass cleaner can be a daunting task.  Only spray a small amount of cleaner onto your soft rag and also spray a small amount onto the window.  Wipe the windows using constant circular motions at first, and then move on to either vertical or horizontal wipes to prevent streaking.  If streaking does appear, simply re-wash the windows.  
    

Remember to never use a colored rag when cleaning windows and upholstery.  White rags that feature soft fabrics should only be used when wiping down a surface.  Gather toothbrushes and Q-tips for cleaning small corners of your vehicle, such as in corners.  To remove stubborn stains from your vehicle, apply baking soda to the blemish.  Cleaning chemicals can be harsh on your vehicle’s interior and can alter the fabric color.
    

Only use small amounts of UV protector on your steering wheel and door handles since these surfaces are constantly touched by you.  An excess amount of UV protector can cause the surface to be slippery, which can be very dangerous especially on your steering wheel.  For cleaning windows, you will not want to use standard home glass cleaner. Use only glass cleaner that has been formulated for car windows.  
    

To clean the roof of your muscle car, you will need to put a small amount of fabric cleaner on a tooth brush and gently apply pressure on the stains.  Clean roof stains using a circular rotation, making sure you do not alter the movement of the fabric.  If you have dirt on your driving peddles, Q-tips with cleaner on them will be able to get dirt out of tiny crevices.
